Zovon Privacy Policy
Welcome to Zovon’s Privacy Statement.
We understand that you are putting your personal information in our hands, and we want you to know exactly what happens to it. Zovon is a no-cost service through which you can locate, view, share and browse trending user-submitted video content. This document explains which data we gather, the reasons behind the gathering, how your information is used and disclosed, and the legal rights available to you in relation to your personal data. Everything is expressed in straightforward, accessible terms, with technical legalese kept to a minimum, so that every provision can be easily understood.
Applicable Scope
This privacy statement applies to every website, mobile application and online service bearing the Zovon name (collectively referred to as our “Services”). The Services are designed above all to help you come across viral user-generated videos, watch them, pass them on and browse the entire catalogue without paying. A link to this statement is provided on each relevant service page. Where a given service maintains its own separate privacy policy, the provisions of that policy take precedence over this document.
Types of Data We Collect
So that your experience of finding, streaming and sharing popular user-uploaded videos can be improved, we gather information covering your identity, your behaviour on our Services, and data originating from outside parties. The complete picture is laid out in the following sections.
Data You Provide Directly
There are certain items of personal information that you may decide to give to our platform while you are using Zovon, such as:
- Account Sign-Up: Phone number, email address, gender, date of birth and the preferences you have set for trending video genres or content categories are captured as essential registration information.
- Profile Setup: It is up to you whether to supplement your profile with information like your viewing habits, biography, interests, personal photographs and video files uploaded to the platform. Uploading media — whether short clips or profile images — may involve permitting Zovon to reach your device camera, the integrated microphone (which is essential for videos containing sound), or the photo and video library of your device.
- Payment Information: In the event that optional premium features appear at a later date, or that you buy products directly inside the platform (dealings completed through external marketplaces such as the iOS App Store and Google Play Store are outside this), payment information including debit or credit card numbers will be obtained by us through screened payment service providers.
- Surveys and Promotions: Everything you submit while joining surveys, focus groups, competitions or marketing activities connected with our video Services.
- Customer Support Interactions: Details you give when reaching out to our support team, for instance to fix video playback difficulties or to sort out login problems.
- Third-Party Contact Information: Where you input the contact details of others so as to use friend invitation functions, that data is handled by us on your behalf. Your chat history and everything you publish are stored as well, so that the platform Services continue to run dependably and safely.
Data Received From Third Parties
- Other Platform Users: Data contributed by other members of the community, including rule-breach reports relating to your uploaded videos or comments that you have made in public.
- Social Media Platforms: Information that comes to us when you sign into Zovon through external social accounts such as Facebook and Google, or when you bring in material from services like Instagram, for instance sharing Instagram short videos across to Zovon.
- Business Partners: Information supplied by partner networks on which our advertising is placed, together with data that points to user accounts suspected of malicious activity, received from external parties wherever the exchange of such data is lawful in the relevant jurisdiction.
Automatically Collected Data
- Usage Activity Logs: Records reflecting the way you engage with our video Services — when you log in, which functions you employ (playback, sharing, trending searches), how you respond to the videos of other creators (through likes and comments), and how you deal with the advertisements that are presented to you.
- Device Information: Particulars of the hardware and software of your device, comprising your public IP address, a unique device identifier, your in-app settings, advertising tracking identifiers and cookie identifiers.
- Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: Tracking mechanisms of this kind are used by us to identify your device and to offer browsing experiences tailored to you, such as keeping your preferred video settings in mind. As things stand, the platform does not react to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers, because the industry has not agreed on one common standard for them.
- Third-Party Software Development Kits: Software packages built into the platform — among them Google AdMob, Firebase and external attribution SDKs — may gather device identifiers and records of user activity to assist targeted advertising and the analysis of platform performance.
Data Collected With Your Express Consent
- Precise Location Data: Information of this kind is gathered exclusively following your unambiguous agreement. Collection of location in the background may persist where your device permits it in its settings. Turning down location access could switch off location-based functions, including the ability to look at trending videos made by creators near you.
- Photo ID Verification: Data from facial measurement (treated as biometric personal data in certain places) is employed to confirm that users are who they say they are. A principal application is stopping fake accounts from putting up misleading or deceptive videos.
- Additional Uploaded Media: Photographs or videos that you provide for your personal profile, or in connection with live streaming and content sharing functions.
How We Use Your Personal Information
Every piece of user data that we hold is applied to supplying, enhancing and safeguarding our video-oriented platform Services, and also to delivering advertising tailored to you. The complete list of purposes is given below.
A. Account Management and Core Service Provision
- Set up and look after your official Zovon user account.
- Give customer support and answer every service-related question, for instance resolving problems with video playback.
- Dispatch notifications about platform updates, fix prices for premium packages that may arrive later, and settle all payment transactions.
B. Video Discovery and Social Interaction
Videos that are trending and made by other creators, and that line up with your content tastes, are suggested to you; meanwhile other users are able to see the videos you upload, in line with your privacy settings. Searches let you locate videos on particular subjects, and interactive functions allow sharing and public commentary.
C. Development of New Features
Your profile, your uploaded videos and your content preferences could be shown on Zovon features that are launched later, or on companion mobile apps that fit with the core video-sharing purpose of the platform. One unified account can also be managed across every new offering we release.
D. Advertising and Marketing
Our advertising campaigns are assessed for performance and platform promotions are arranged, such as telling users about fresh video editing tools. Messages of a marketing nature may also be sent to you concerning products or services that we judge could appeal to you, judging by the videos you watch and the way you use Zovon.
E. Ongoing Service Improvement
Surveys seeking your feedback are circulated, patterns of community engagement with video content are examined, and new functions such as sharper recommendation algorithms are built. Records from customer support are also studied to raise the general standard of service, paying special attention to cutting down the time taken to sort out video upload failures.
F. Platform Security and Legal Compliance
Fraudulent activity — for example fake accounts posting videos whose copyright they do not own — is identified by us, our Terms of Service are enforced, and we work with the authorities where formal legal demands require it. Data connected with breaches of platform rules is held onto as well, so that repeat wrongdoing across the community can be kept in check.
Legal Basis for Data Processing
There are four separate legal foundations upon which the platform processes your personal data:
- Contract Performance: The running of your registered account and the supply of all core platform Services, which takes in every purpose named in sections A through C above.
- Legitimate Interests: The operation of targeted advertising campaigns, the betterment of platform functions and the preservation of community safety, which takes in every purpose named in sections D through F above.
- Legal Obligation: Meeting the mandatory requirements laid down by regulators, for instance answering official court orders and requests for information from authorities.
- User Consent: Dealing with sensitive personal data — such as video preference tags that you have set to fully private — or switching on restricted collection functions like precise location tracking. Your consent can be withdrawn whenever you wish, via the in-app settings or by getting in touch with our support team.
When We Disclose Your Personal Information
Disclosure to Other Platform Users
Other Zovon users are able to see your public profile and everything that you have made publicly visible, covering videos labelled “Public” and public comments; the only thing governing this is your privacy settings. Should another user report content that you posted for policy breaches, the person who filed the report may receive updates from us on how it was dealt with.
Disclosure to Service Providers and Business Partners
Suppliers from outside that keep the day-to-day operations of the platform going — for example cloud video hosting companies and payment processors — could be given limited parts of your personal data. With advertising partners, we exchange only encrypted data in an unreadable hash format, so that your privacy stays fully protected. Every supplier we work with must observe tight non-disclosure agreements covering all user information they come into contact with.
Built-In Sharing Features
A sharing function is built into the platform so that you can forward video clips or your profile page to outside platforms beyond the Zovon ecosystem. Passing trending videos along through WhatsApp is a typical case.
Legal Proceedings and Corporate Transactions
During official legal proceedings — answering court subpoenas, for instance — or where a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy restructuring involving the company takes place, your personal data could be revealed, insofar as the law demands it or the disclosure is an essential element of the deal.
Disclosure With Your Explicit Approval
Before your personal data is shared with outside parties for reasons unconnected to the core running of the platform, your explicit agreement will be sought. Working with brand partners to publicise their exclusive branded video series would be one such situation.
Aggregated Anonymized Data
Aggregated information that has been anonymised or protected through hashing — hardware metadata from devices and broad demographic figures like “users who watch music-related video content” included — may be handed to outside partners in aid of targeted advertising and the analysis of user behaviour.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Your personal information could move to the United States or to other nations whose data protection rules differ. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, standard contractual clauses endorsed by data protection authorities — or alternative compliance arrangements accepted in law — are relied upon, so that every piece of transferred data keeps a uniform level of protection.
Your Rights and Control Options
In-App Account Tools
- Access and Edit Your Data: Changes can be made to the details in your profile, for example your video content preference tags, or you can enter account settings to adjust any personal information kept in your account.
- Manage Device Permissions: The system settings of your mobile device allow you to grant or withdraw Zovon’s access to your contacts, location sensor and camera. Be aware that turning off particular permissions disables the platform functions that rely on them; uploading video content, for instance, requires camera or photo library access to stay on.
- App Uninstallation: If you uninstall the Zovon mobile app from your device, your registered account is not deleted as a result. The personal data we store about you continues to sit on the secure servers of the platform.
- Permanent Account Deletion: A request to delete your account can be made through the settings built into the platform. Following deactivation, your public profile and every uploaded video stop being visible to others, although your personal records are kept strictly according to our data retention policy.
Legal Rights Based on Your Location
The rights listed below may be yours, depending on the place where you reside:
- Right of Access and Data Portability: Ask us for a complete copy of the personal data held in your account, provided in a machine-readable standard layout such as a CSV file covering your whole video upload history.
- Right to Erasure: Ask us to wipe your personal data permanently, except where narrow legal exceptions oblige us to retain it for compliance.
- Right to Rectification: Have mistaken information in your profile put right, for example by refreshing your custom video content preference categories.
- Right to Object and Restrict Processing: Raise objections to particular processing activities or impose limits on selected uses of your data. Opting out of advertising aimed at you on the strength of your behavioural data is one illustration.
Documents proving your identity could be asked for ahead of any data rights request being met, so that fraudulent applications are stopped. Requests that break applicable local laws, cannot be carried out technically, or would step on the legitimate rights of other platform users may be turned down. People living in Virginia may appeal if a data rights request is refused. Users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom can bring complaints about our handling of data to their local data protection authority.
Data Retention Periods
Personal data is held by the platform solely for the period needed to accomplish business objectives or satisfy legal compliance obligations:
- Safety Retention Period: Three calendar months after your account is formally closed, or twelve months after your account is permanently banned. During this window our team can look thoroughly into possible harmful incidents connected with videos you uploaded earlier, including prohibited harmful content.
- Retention After the Safety Period:
- Mandatory Compliance Retention: Financial transaction records are stored for ten years; credit card payment details remain on file until every connected dispute period draws to a close; platform user activity logs are kept for one calendar year; and each consent record is preserved for five full years.
- Legitimate Business Needs: Correspondence with customer support is kept for five years; core metadata showing that your account existed is stored for three years after closure; profile information is held for one year in case legal proceedings arise later; and data on permanently banned accounts is stored indefinitely to protect the community.
- Ongoing Legal Proceedings: Personal data connected with live legal claims or regulatory investigations is kept under secure conditions until the dispute concerned has been settled in full.
Privacy for Minors
The entire set of platform Services at Zovon is meant only for people aged eighteen and upwards. We do not make a habit of collecting information that identifies minors. If you come across an account run by somebody below eighteen, kindly lodge a violation report through the in-app reporting function.
Minor Safety Policy
The mobile application is not directed at children under eighteen, and identifiable personal data belonging to minors is never knowingly collected.
Our policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation material in all its forms — sexualised video content showing minors included — is one of strict zero tolerance. Violating content may be reported by any user directly through the in-app reporting tool. Every report that concerns child sexual exploitation material is handled by our moderation team as a priority, and suitable steps follow, ranging from full removal of the content to temporary or permanent restrictions on accounts.
Where we establish that a minor’s personal data was gathered without proper parental consent, we will act at once to erase every such record from our secure servers.
To the extent local law calls for it, we cooperate fully with the authorities in formal investigations concerning child sexual abuse material.
Questions or concerns about minor safety standards and the protocols for protecting minors’ privacy can be sent to our dedicated support team at: [email protected]

Permanent Account Deletion Steps
Here is how you permanently delete your registered Zovon account:
- Open App Settings > Account Settings and tap the “Delete Account” option.
- Work through the instructions shown on screen to begin the deactivation and deletion process.
The moment your deletion request is submitted, your account is deactivated. All stored personal data — uploaded videos and profile information included — is held for a seven-day recovery period, so that you can restore the account if you change your mind. Logging back in within those seven days cancels the deletion. After the seven-day recovery period has passed, all personal data is wiped permanently and cannot be brought back under any circumstances.
Thank you for picking Zovon as your video-sharing platform. Our team remains wholly committed to safeguarding your privacy and to offering a secure and open environment in which users can freely find, stream and pass along trending user-generated video content.
